ACCA Revision Strategy: How to Use the Last 30 Days Before Your Exam

Comments · 27 Views

A practical 30-day revision strategy for ACCA exams covering mocks, weak topics, exam technique and exam-week routines.

The final month decides how much of your hard work turns into marks. A clear revision plan is a key part of the ACCA course.

Week 1: Diagnose

  1. Take a full timed mock to find weak areas.
  2. List every topic and rate your confidence from 1 to 5.
  3. Prioritise low-confidence, high-weight topics.

Week 2: Repair weak areas

  • Revisit notes and solved examples for weak topics
  • Do targeted practice questions
  • Ask faculty or study partners to clarify doubts, ideally in revision ACCA classes

Week 3: Practise under exam conditions

  • Take two or three full-length mocks
  • Use the same time limits as the real exam
  • Mark yourself strictly and review every error
  • Update your mistake log

Week 4: Sharpen and stabilise

  • Revise formulas, standards and key frameworks
  • Re-attempt questions you got wrong
  • Practise exam technique, such as time per mark and answer structure
  • Reduce new learning and focus on consolidation

Daily routine

  1. Morning: a focused topic review.
  2. Afternoon: questions under time.
  3. Evening: error review and light revision.

Exam-week tips

  • Prepare ID, booking confirmation and travel plan or remote setup
  • Sleep properly
  • Avoid last-minute cramming of new topics
  • Skim your formula sheet and mistake log

For computer-based exams

Practise on computer-based question banks and learn the on-screen tools.

Common revision mistakes

  1. Re-reading notes instead of practising
  2. Skipping mocks
  3. Ignoring weak topics
  4. Overloading the last days

Use examiner's reports

They reveal common errors and expectations. Reading them in your last month is valuable.
